The half kneeling single arm Landmine press is one of my go-to exercises for people who have shoulder (or mobility) issues and are not able to perform any overhead pressing variations as it is a lot friendlier on the shoulders, and it yields most (if not all) of the same benefits. Another benefit of this exercise is that it really works the core muscles and trains the body to resist both extension and rotation, so you get a huge bang for your buck. Aside from pressing the barbell in a diagonal plane by extending your elbow, there should be no other movement occurring in your body.

The shoulders are a fragile area and should be trained as such. In the shoulder joint, there’s a tiny gap for your arms to move around called the “subacromial space"—that space should always be maintained.

Metabolic The cause is almost always related to volume and/or load: too much or too little. Acute spikes up and down (yes, increases AND decreases) in weekly volume have a high correlation to injury risk in athletes. When looking at the Acute : Chronic workload ratio, we look at the total volume performed by the athlete over the past Week, and divide that by the total volume over the past 4 weeks. What we would like to see is a ratio between 0.8 – 1.3. That means this past week’s volume has either been slightly decreased (0.8) or increased (1.3) compared to what the athlete is physiologically adapted to. If that ratio comes out to be a 1.5 or higher, this is an acute spike in training volume that puts them at a much higher risk of injury2.

GO AWAY: 1. Patellar Tendon Strap: This strap is one of most common over-the-counter support braces, and it’s purpose is to help distribute the stress along the entire tendon. This cheap solution is worth trying, and allows some athletes to exercise pain-free when they otherwise wouldn’t.
The purpose of this exercise is to train motor control, so what that means is you should play around with different ways to move the shoulders while in this position. There is no set pattern of movements–just see how different movements and angles feel for you.
Seated cable rows are ideal for this purpose. Use a handle that allows you to have a neutral, shoulder-width grip. Close-grip handles (the triangle-shaped ones where your hands are inches from each other) actually cause your shoulders to internally rotate, which we don’t want.

Child Development FAQ'S The problem is that most people simply don’t have the right strategies to adhere to a program when barriers get in the way, said James Annesi, the vice president of research and evaluation at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta and a professor of health promotion at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. In his research, Dr. Annesi has found that one of the most powerful ways to ensure that you adhere to an exercise routine is to set very specific goals. “With goal setting, the natural tendency is to set a very lofty goal — and then you get disappointed when you don’t obtain it quickly,” he said. That can derail your long-term progress. “You have to find a way to empower yourself to get through these barriers,” Dr. Annesi said. So here are some strategies that work.

If you have a frozen shoulder the capsule around the joint has become too tight, stopping you moving your shoulder.
