After repurchasing itself from Nokia, Withings is back with the new Steel HR Sport fitness tracker. The hybrid sports watch may look familiar, but any resemblances to Nokia's Steel HR are only skin-deep. These are: biceps, calves, chest (major and minor), hamstrings, lats, middle back, quadriceps, shoulders (all three heads), traps, and triceps. Although these results are certainly good news, it’s important to keep in mind that not all patients improved completely, and even those who did achieve lasting had to exercise diligently for a year (although six months might have done the trick, we can’t tell from this data). So strengthening is not a reliable or easy fix for neck pain (the efficacy vs. effectiveness problem strongly applies, see Beedie). A galactic near-miss. A tendon is a band of tough, fibrous connective tissues that attaches the muscles to the bones.  The attachment site of the tendon on the bone is pulled during muscle contractions and movements.  Micro tears in the tendon cause irritation and inflammation impairing the normal smooth gliding motion of the tendon.  This inflammation is known as Tendinitis. It’s commonly caused by minor stress and repetitive motion, but can also occur from sudden serious impact or injury.  This article focuses on overuse or repetitive motion –doing too much too soon. This form cue is an over-simplification of proper movement mechanics. It’s natural for your knees to go in front of your toes with certain movements. Look at anyone who walks down stairs or jumps. The key is in limiting movement of the knees in front of the toes when your knee is in pain. Exercises like the wall squat were specifically developed to follow this rule, and yet they can load your patellar tendon and knee joint more than heavy deadlifts can. While your knee may be behind the toes in these exercises, your weight is very far behind the knees, and thus placing a large load on the knee joint. It’s more important to make sure that your knees are in proper alignment with your 2nd or 3rd toes.
