Ectomorph - As an ectomorph you'll have a harder time training legs than mesomorphs and endomorphs. An ectomorph's legs are naturally thin, and you'll have to train legs with greater intensity in order to gain muscle. Nonetheless, ectomorphs are able to put on a noticeable size in their quadriceps in a short period of time.

When athletes develop tendinopathy, pain levels can be widely varied. It is very common for tendinopathy to cause high levels of pain (which I consider to be anything more than a 6 out of 10, with 10 being the worst pain imaginable). When someone is in this much pain, this needs to be dealt with before any further treatment can occur. Isometrics have an immediate analgesic (pain relieving) effect, and should be used to decrease pain to a “manageable” level. Individuality of each athlete plays a huge factor in this part of treatment – each person’s “manageable” level of pain will be different. As a general rule, getting the pain down to a 2-3/10 is a good goal before progressing to the next phase. This will (probably) not happen overnight! Be patient, and focus on decreasing pain FIRST.

International Programs Technically, the patellar tendon is a ligament that links the front of the knee (patella) to the shin bone (tibia). It works in conjunction with the quadriceps muscle to extend the knee. The knee complex functions like a 3rd class lever or a pulley – it helps the quadriceps muscle straighten the knee more efficiently.

The band is a great tool for people training through pain as it offers a variable resistance. Simply put, as you pull back on the band, it will create more and more resistance due to the elastic stretching out. This will automatically slow down movements and make them inherently safer for people who are already gun shy from training the upper body while experiencing shoulder pain.
And for those athletes who do come under the weather, Flynn suggests they follow the “neck-up” rule: If the symptoms are all above the neck, such as a runny nose or sneezing, it’s generally OK to work out. Fevers, body aches and chills call for more caution.
